Maren Swenson Waxenberg serves as an instructor at the Columbia Executive MBA program teaching communication skills, interview skills and leadership poise seminars.  She is currently an adjunct associate professor at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and consults with the Professional Development Company, Inc.  Ms. Waxenberg has a 30-year background in special events, performing arts production and the entertainment industry.   In 1996, she founded Maren Productions which produces audio books, radio and television voice-overs, and podcasts.  Maren Productions also offers special event production and consultancy services.  In 1998, she joined George Trescher Associates as director of special events where she produced the grand opening of Grand Central Station, the inaugural gala for the Smithsonian Institution’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Awards, and four Cabaret events for the New York Weill Medical Center, among others.

 

Ms. Waxenberg has worked in theatre production and management at the TheatreVirginia in Richmond, the Guthrie Theatre, Minneapolis, and The New Dramatists in New York. She edited and formatted feature films for ABC Motion Picture Post Production.  She served as the concert manager of The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, produced events for the promotion department of The New York Daily News, and has produced music concerts at Weill Recital Hall and Carnegie Hall.  Ms, Waxenberg has produced, directed and performed in numerous Off-Broadway theatre productions.  In addition, her work as a producer and narrator of audiobooks is available on Audible.com, Amazon Kindle, and iTunes.
